NOTE: NO LIVE STREAM OR RECORDED SERVICES ON 25th JULY or 1st AUGUST - IN PERSON ONLY...
'BACK TO CHURCH' (with singing) FROM 25th JULY...
We have been welcoming a limited number of people for in person services from the 23rd May, with the new changes in law surrounding social distancing requirements we are starting to gradually reopen the Church with additional seating capacity (up to 100 with 'safe' areas) and the option for singing in services and Sunday School for children, but our main health and safety priority remains the same; to keep our team and our congregation safe. Our full reopening statement is reproduced below:
On the 19th July the law surrounding social distancing changed significantly. Moving from law to best practice guidance. Here at LFC we have studied the Baptist Union Guidelines and confirm we respect the government’s decision but firmly believe that a slow and cautious approach to normality is more justified.
Our main health and safety priority remains the same; to keep our team and our congregation safe, which is why we’ve decided to keep key protection measures in place. For us, just a date on the calendar is not a reason to stop the good practices that have helped to keep our loved ones and community safe. We will, however, recommence live music and congregational singing.
We have decided that our duty volunteers will wear a face mask in the following circumstances.
- Out of common decency, if you are wearing a face covering duty volunteers will do the same.
- When preparing and serving food and drink, along with gloves and aprons.
We actively encourage the use of face coverings, particularly in crowded areas, and for many people this habit will not be immediately altered. Please do not feel uncomfortable wearing one in Church. We thank you whole heartedly for your kind consideration.
There are hands sanitisation stations, at both the entrance and exits of the building.
Our seating capacity will be reduced to 100 in the short term and there will be an area of socially distanced seating for those who require it. Ventilation will be key so windows will be opened and we will keep notes of those attending. For those wishing to bring a cash offering the offertory bags will be available on the baptistry.
If there is anything that makes you particularly worried or nervous about visiting us please contact us and we’ll aim to put your mind at ease.
We look forward to welcoming you “back to Church”
