We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Messiah and Saviour of the world. Through him, the liberating kingdom of God has entered into the world. He atoned for sin through the sacrifice of the cross, was raised from death and ascended into heaven. He will return in the fullness of time. We believe in the Holy Spirit who reveals the truth about Christ and glorifies him. He awakens people to their sin and imparts spiritual life to them in conversion and new birth. The Spirit indwells and empowers the church and imparts to all gifts for God's service. We believe that the Bible is inspired by God, that it bears unique witness to Christ and is, therefore, the final authority on all aspects of Christian belief and behaviour, reliable and sufficient in all that it affirms. We believe that human beings are created in the image of God but through sin become guilty and so stand in need of redemption through the sacrifice of Christ. We believe in the love of God for the whole of his creation. He seeks the salvation of all and realises it in those who respond to him in repentance and faith. All believers are called to follow Christ and to become like him and to give themselves to his service. We believe in the Church as the people of God, the body of Christ, and the temple of the Holy Spirit. Its role is to glorify God and serve his purposes in the world as the primary agent of the kingdom of God. We believe in the final triumph of Christ over evil and injustice. He will return to complete the purposes of God and to judge the living and the dead. He will gather those who belong to him into the new heaven and the new earth but those who resist him will be eternally lost. We believe that believer's baptism is the pattern set out for us in Scripture whilst wanting to welcome and affirm those who have a different story to tell of how they have been baptised or come to faith. We are a member of the Evangelical Alliance ,Southern Counties Baptist Association and part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.
